SAGEBRUSH ALPACAS

My name is Darlene Reckker, I was born and raised on a small farm in Michigan.

My husband, our son and I moved to Kremmling after being transferred to complete a job on an electrical power line.

We have now lived here for 24 years.
I have a soft heart for animals and became interested in Alpacas 3 years ago.

I have owned, and raised 9 alpacas. The alpacas are sheared once a year in June.

I worked side by side with a dear friend in a fiber milling business to learn more on processing sheared dirty fiber into my own beautiful hand painted color ways in yarn.

Blending alpaca with other fibers such as different
wools, bamboo, tencel is very interesting!

Seeing the colorful strands of yarn amazes me, as each and every fiber takes on its own color!

Alpaca is a great fiber… very warm, strong, flame
retardant, and water repellent.

Growing up, my Mother and Grandmother taught me to knit and crochet.

I have made and sold several hats, scarves, mittens, socks, and bags.

Alpaca is a great fiber for spinning, felting, making sturdy bags, purses, coasters or coffee cup cozies.

It is endless what you can create with this awesome fiber!

If you have a favorite color or item you would like made… I can quote a price.

I can take orders for any of the products featured.
